Many years ago, when I started my personal brand, I had little or no followers on all my social media handles. Today, Temi Ajibewa can boast of running a 6 figure business with 100k+ followers across all social media platforms.
Here are 4 hacks that helped me build my brand from scratch:
1. Serve a Facebook and LinkedIn group:
Facebook and LinkedIn groups are very powerful and relevant in today’s world. Look for 3-5 groups in your niche (it should have, at least, 10,000 members), share valuable posts on the groups daily; like and comment on others’ posts. Doing so frequently can gain you followers from existing platforms.
2. Offer valuable content on an established thought leader’s platform: When a thought leader in your industry puts out a post on their platforms, make meaningful contributions to the conversations. Repost with your own contribution to their post. This will help gain attention and his or her comment can attract followers to you. Do this consistently and you’ll soon have people from that platform checking out your profile. If they like what they see, they’ll follow and even patronize you. So make sure you’ve worked on your profile well enough.
3. Engage with other contributors’ comments:
This means you’re liking and replying to as many comments as you find relevant on any post you engage with. It works just like the last hack: you’ll gain these contributors’ attention, and they’ll check you out and may decide to follow you.
4. Invest in paid ads:
Run ads to generate leads. This is where your sales funnel comes in. If you’ve structured it well enough, you’ll be able to build an email list and nurture the leads until they become paying clients.
